The Vienna Philharmonic coin is struck in pure gold, 999.9 fine (24 karats). It has the largest diameter 1-ounce pure gold coin in the world. According to the World Gold Council, it was the best-selling gold coin worldwide in 1992, 1995 and 1996. The Vienna Philharmonic coin is the only European legal tender gold coin produced on a large scale, and it is the only regular issued bullion coin denominated in Euros.
