This is a **Nepalese 1000 Rupee Gold Coin** from the reign of **Birendra Bir Bikram Shah**, the king of Nepal at the time the coin was minted. This coin was issued in **1974** and is a part of the **Wildlife Conservation Series**.
The coin was minted to **.900 fineness** and weighs **33.437 grams** with **30.1 grams** in Gold content. It features the head of Birendra Bikram Shah on the obverse and a **Great Indian Rhinoceros** on the reverse.
This coin was produced by the Royal Mint in conjunction with the **World Wildlife Fund (WWF)** and the **International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCNNR)**. The collection was released between 1974 and 1975.
