CANADIAN MAPLE LEAF GOLD COIN 2022 - 1 OZ

    The Canadian gold maple leaf is the official bullion gold coin of Canada and is produced by the Royal Canadian Mint. It features the famous maple leaf symbol, which is often synonymous with the national identity of Canada. Throughout its history, the Maple Leaf has been extremely popular, and now includes highly secure measures to prevent copies, such as the micron-precise pattern that gives each coin an exact radial line which creates a very distinct light-diffraction pattern, which is said to be unmistakable. Each coin uses laser micro-engraving; the same technology used to etch the patterns onto Canada’s circulating currency. It is one of the purest gold coins of regular issue in the world, with a gold content of .9999 millesimal fineness (24 karat). That is, it contains virtually no base metals at all - only gold exclusively mined in Canada. 

     The design for the gold maple leaf blends elements from Canada's proud heritage. Every maple leaf coin is guaranteed by the Government of Canada for its weight and purity. As a result, maple leafs are extremely liquid, easily bought and sold anywhere in the world where precious metals are traded. In 2013 and 2015, new security features were introduced. In 2013, a laser-micro-engraved textured maple leaf was added on a small area of the reverse (Maple Leaf) side of the coin. In the centre of this mark is the numeral denoting the coin's year of issue, which is only visible under magnification. In 2015, the radial lines on the coin's background on both sides of the coin were added.
