How to pawn your Silver with us?

Silver Bullion Malaysia will now collaborate with Ta Yoong Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries to deliver a simple and fast financing solution to our customers’ short-term financing needs by pledging Silver IPM items for short-term liquidity. Ta Yoong will be the liquidity and financing provider for the Silver IPMs pledged.

Ta Yoong Group of pawnshops have a long history in Malaysia with the first pawnshop established in 1947 making Ta Yoong one of the most established and trusted pawn broking groups operating out of the Klang Valley. The Group is also involved in other investment ventures that include property investment, financing investment and operations of industrial production with nationwide and international trading through its associated companies.

By harnessing the collective knowledge and experience of SBM and Ta Yoong, we can provide the best value for our customer’s short-term liquidity needs.
 

What qualifies as Silver IPM items.

1)  The precious metals must be capable of being traded on the international bullion market and are in the form of bars, wafers, ingots or coins.      https://silverbullion.com.my/FAQ/Category/Bullion

2)  The purity content must be at least 99.9% for silver to qualify as Investment Precious Metals “IPMs”. For bars, wafers or ingots, they must be produced by an accredited or endorsed refiner who is or was in the “Good Delivery” list of the LBMA (in the case of silver); http://www.lbma.org.uk/the-good-delivery-list

3)  For coins, it must be prescribed in the IPM Qualifying Coin List and is or was the legal tender in its country of origin; http://gst.customs.gov.my/en/rg/SiteAssets/industry_guides_pdf/GUIDE_ON_PM19052016v2.pdf

Procedures for quick financing

Bring your Silver IPM item/s for Silver Bullion Kelana Jaya or Johor Bahru office for our staff to evaluate the collateral

  • Any customer/borrower with Silver IPM to pledge at Ta Yoong should first come to our SBM office (Kelana Jaya or Johor Bahru) for a quick visual and physical assessment.
  • SBM will authenticate and determine the best collateral value for your consideration.
  • The collateral value is taken at 75% of the current spot bid price of the metal and will be valid for 24 hours after parcelization at SBM to avoid any price gyrations or fluctuations
  • There is a RM25-00 per parcel, parcelization service fee. 

Bring your Silver IPM item/s to Ta Yoong for disbursement.

  • Upon accepting the offer, SBM will parcelize the IPM item/s in serialized tamper-evident bags for security. The quantity, weight, size and description of the Silver IPM items will be recorded.
  • After parcelization, the customer/borrower is free to approach any Ta Yoong branch or affiliates for financing disbursement. Please refer to list below.
  • The term of financing is for six (6) months and may be extended if the need arises upon approval from Ta Yoong with due notification.
